Breakfast Talk

Hi everyone,

Today I am asking for input to see what people are eating for breakfast. If you are looking for a smaller waist or lean muscle, that misunderstood breakfast meal may be slowing you down. Breakfast is a very controversial meal but various studies prove that the larger your breakfast, the smaller the waist.

Now, this obviously comes with rules as eating a box of cereal is not what I am talking about. If you are snacking on fruit, some type of bread and coffee for breakfast that could be a reason you are not losing weight. I strongly believe breakfast should be your largest meal and meals after that should be less and less. You will use the calories you consume at breakfast throughout the day, unless it all sugar (meaning cereal or fruit).

The breakfast I have been experimenting with lately:

  • 2-3 eggs either scrambled or over easy
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal or 1/4 cup steal cut oats
  • 2 pieces of bacon
  • piece of wheat toast
  • protein shake with 25g of protein

This is a change from my usual breakfast of only a protein shake, bacon, and eggs. The added carbohydrates provide a great source of energy for my workouts. I feel fuller in the morning and it appears my metabolism is higher throughout the day. In the past I have experimented with various foods such as steak, salmon, tofu, and green juices to start the day.
